It's Time to March Toward Ending Hunger!

Minnesota FoodShare's March Campaign kicked off March 1 and will run through April 6. During that time, your contributions to Friends in Need Food Shelf will not only help us purchase much needed food but will also be eligible for a partial match.

Why donate to Friends in Need?

  • According to Feeding America, 537,890 Minnesotans are facing hunger, with 34% of them under the age of 18.
  • Food shelf visits have increased an average of 18.4% across Minnesota.
  • Serving an average of 250-275 households weekly, Friends in Need reaches nearly 5,000 individuals each month, 40% of which are children.
  • In 2025, we distributed almost 1.2 million pounds of food, toiletries and other essentials.
  • While we primarily serve households in St. Paul Park, Cottage Grove, Newport, and Grey Cloud Island, our clients come from all over the metro area. We turn no eligible person in need away!
  • We are 99% volunteer operated, with over 125 individuals donating their time each week in service to the community.

The best reason for donating to Friends in Need Food Shelf?

We couldn't do it without you! Friends in Need has been supporting the community with community support since 1992. Now, more than ever, your donations make a difference! Cuts in federal programs have increased need while, at the same time, decreasing available funding. Please consider making a one-time or recurring monthly donation to help us on our mission to eliminate food insecurity in our community!
