Crystal served as Assistant Director at Friends in Need for 3 years and took over as Executive Director upon the retirement of Jill Hughes.
She grew up in Minnesota and attended college at the University of Minnesota.
In her free time she enjoys crafting, reading and spending time with her two spoiled rescue dogs. ​Crystal has a husband, two grown adult daughters. Crystal manages over 100 volunteers at the food shelf and is responsible for grant writing and fundraising, as well as day-today operations.
​She reports to the Board of Directors, which is made up of business leaders from our community who are passionate about our vision. She is responsible for engaging the community in our mission and facilitating the bridge between our donors and our clients.
